That's me!

Hi/Hallo/Olá!

I'm Mayhara - pleasure to meet you! In case we don't know each other, let me tell you a bit more of me and of what you will see here.

I'm a freelance illustrator based in Munich. I graduated in Visual Arts and Technology and have a Masters in Illustration and Animation. For the Masters, I had a great time creating a poetic picturebook about ADHD and how it feels to live life as an undiagnosed person. Even though I am not diagnosed with ADHD (...yet), I have always been quite interested about the different ways people perceive life, how they walk through it and how we can help in making people's lives easier by understanding them better. I learned a lot about ADHD, found fun ways to depict these busy interesting minds while using visual metaphors and talked to many captivating kids in special needs schools and non specialized ones, to try out the book and hear their inputs.  So, I have never really considered any other field than art and drawing, so I'm happy this is working out, because I really have no skills in science or any other area. I started doing some realistic drawings when I was younger, but I got bored trying to portray the reality as it was. Some years later, I was finally able to understand that I can have fun and explore reality through my own eyes and different styles - to create my own reality. This was only possible thanks to the amazing illustrators out there, who are great inspirations

I'm happy to share my work with the world (or a tiny part of it, rather). Each one who's been here and each new person who finds my work and supports me just by sticking with me, makes me feel like I'm doing the right thing
